Learning words in Spanish becomes a fun game for kids when they open this brand-new More Hide & Speak book. It's a sequel to the original and very popular Hide & Speak: Spanish published by Barron's a few seasons ago. The format hasn't changed, but all the words and subject themes are new. Kids open a book to any right-hand page, where they see two vertical lists. The list on the left is a series of nine simple color illustrations, and the right-hand list contains words to be learned in Spanish. Each word names the object in the adjoining picture. After studying the words and pictures, kids hide the pictures with the book's left-hand cover flap. They recite the words out loud as they try to recall the adjoining picture and name it in their own language. They can also use a water-based felt-tip pen to write their answers on the cover flap, which can be erased for future use by rubbing it with a soft cloth or tissue. The words on each page relate to a single theme, such as Rooms of the House, Sports, Spring and Summer, Autumn and Winter, Animals and Insects, and many others--15 themes in total.
